Privacy Policy

Who we are
NRL Predict (“we”, “us”) operates a statistical-analysis platform that publishes a model's read of NRL matches alongside the public betting market, for information and entertainment only. We are not a bookmaker and do not accept, hold, or settle wagers. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, display name, and date of birth (used to verify you are 18 or older; we store the date of birth and a server-computed age check).
- Authentication data — a securely hashed password (never stored in plain text) and session/refresh tokens.
- Subscription & billing metadata — your plan tier and billing status via our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Responsible-gambling settings — any spend/session limits you set and any self-exclusion you request.
- Technical logs — IP address, user-agent, and basic request metadata kept for security, fraud-prevention, and debugging.
How we use it
To provide and secure the service; verify you are 18+; process subscriptions; enforce the responsible-gambling controls you choose (spend caps, session reminders, self-exclusion); send transactional email (account confirmation, password resets, billing receipts); and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only with the processors we need to run the service, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Our email provider — to deliver transactional email.
- Our hosting/infrastructure providers — to run the application and database.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
Where your data is stored
Our primary database is hosted in Australia (Sydney region). Some processors (for example, Stripe and our email provider) may store or process limited data overseas; where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax, and audit obligations. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, a self-exclusion request and limited billing records).
Your rights
You can access and correct your information, download a copy of everything we hold about you, and delete your account at any time from your account settings. You can also set spending/session limits or self-exclude there. To make any other privacy request — or to complain about how we have handled your information — contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Security
We protect your information with measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, httpOnly session cookies, row-level database access controls, and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and to respond to any incident appropriately.
